The Tubman African American Museum is sponsoring a showing of "Bob Marley: The Making of a Legend" at the Douglass Theatre in downtown Macon at 7 p.m. May 9.
The show leads up to the 33rd anniversary of Marley's passing on May 11.
Based on footage shot in the early 1970's and lost for more than 30 years, the film documents life at 56 Hope Road, in Kingston, Jamaica featuring a young Bob Marley before he was famous. The film also shows the Wailers first rehearsal, when the idea of a Jamaican super group like the Beatles or Rolling Stones was still just a dream, according to a review of the film.
Tickets to the show are $7.
