Investigators: Cause of temple fire may be electrical

A fire that gutted a temple and former school may have been caused by electrical wires.

Morgan Fisher of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and explosives division, said there was nothing that pointed to arson.

The building served as a Hindu worship center located off Eisenhower Parkway.

This morning, Raxit Patel surveyed the damage with an assessor. Patel's uncle bought the building in 2009 and donated a portion of it to the temple.

His brother, Krunal Patel, told 13WMAZ's Judy Le that they plan to rebuild the temple. In the meantime, they will hold services in the cafeteria, the only part of the temple that was not ruined.

The building caught fire Wednesday just before 7 p.m.
