UPDATE: Second suspect arrested in fatal E. Macon shooting

UPDATE: Saturday, 2:15 p.m.: Bibb County Sheriff's Office arrested a second man in connection with the shooting death of an east Macon man Jan. 7.

A tip called in to Macon Regional Crime Stoppers resulted in the arrest of Antwan Denard Johnson just after noon Sunday, according to a sheriff's office news release. He was picked up without incident in a room at Discovery Inn, 4606 Chambers Road.

Sherod Holston, 24, turned himself in to authorities last week.

Both men are in Bibb County jail charged with robbery and murder. Johnson also had warrants from an unrelated case including family violence, terroristic threats and cruelty to children, the news release states.

Ulysses Pitts, 42, was shot to death at his home on McCall Road. Two children were at the house with Pitts, but they were not injured.

UPDATE: One of the men suspected in killing a Macon man last week turned himself in to Bibb County authorities, Saturday.

Sherod Holston, 24, was booked into Bibb County jail and charged with the murder and armed robbery of Ulysses Pitts on Wednesday. He was also charged with probation violation.

No bond has been set.

An arrest warrant has also been issued for Antwan Denard Johnson of Macon. He is still wanted.

Pitts, 42, was shot to death at his home on McCall Road. Two children were at the house with Pitts, but they were not injured.

UPDATE: Arrest warrants have been issued for two men in connection with the shooting death of an east Macon man Wednesday morning.

Ulysses Pitts, 42, was shot multiple times in his home at 1074 McCall Road while he was home with his grandsons.

Bibb County authorities have warrants for Sherod Holston and Antwan Denard Johnson of Macon, according to the sheriff's office.

They are both wanted on the charges of felony murder and armed robbery for taking money during the shooting, according to the news release.

Pitts' death was the first homicide in Macon of 2015.

UPDATE, NOON, WEDNESDAY: A neighbor of a man killed in east Macon on Wednesday morning said he was awaken when the victim's grandsons came to his house.

George Ray, lives next door to Ulysses Pitts, 42, who was shot to death in his McCall Road home.

Ray said two little boys who live at 1074 McCall Road knocked on his door and told him someone broke into their home and shot their grandfather.

The boys told Ray they answered the door after the bell rang. One person put a gun to one of the boy's head and another person kicked in the back door of the home and shot Pitts.

No arrests have been made.

Bibb coroner Leon Jones says this is the year's first homicide in the county.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is now calling a shooting in East Macon a homicide.

According to a news release, 42-year-old Ulysses Pitts was shot multiple times in his home at 1074 McCall Road.

Pitts was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon, where he was pronounced dead.

According to the release, investigators are interviewing possible witnesses to the shooting. They are also still processing the crime scene.

Neighbor George Ray, a retired captain with the Macon-Bibb Fire Department, tells 13WMAZ he awoke to two boys knocking on his door.

Ray says the boys told him their grandfather, Pitts, had been shot several times after someone broke down the back door.

Other neighbors said Pitts moved to the neighborhood about a year ago and that he mostly kept to himself.
