Man arrested after assault at Macon hotel, second suspect at large

A man is in critical condition after he was allegedly hit in the face by two men after an argument at a Macon motel.

A news release from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to an aggravated assault at the America’s Best Inn on Harrison Road around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Once deputies arrived at the scene, they were told that 28-year-old Cordeiro Clinkscale was arguing with 35-year-old Samuel Sessions about a stolen car Sessions had given Clinkscale.

Clinkscale reportedly hit Sessions in the face, causing him to hit his head on the concrete.

The release says a second man, 49-year-old Orlando Wedlowe, also hit Sessions in the face after he was unconscious on the ground.

Clinkscale was arrested at the scene, but Wedlowe ran away before deputies arrived.

Sessions is currently listed in critical condition at the Medical Center, Navicent Health.

Clinkscale is charged with aggravated assault and is being held without bond.

Warrants have been issued for Wedlowe.

Anyone with information about Wedlowe’s location is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
