Man charged in fatal east Macon shooting

Love triangle may have caused fatal shooting

After nearly a week of being on the run, 25-year-old Anterrio Stinson is now behind bars.

He’s the man accused of fatally shooting 24-year-old Jonathan Risby and wounding 39-year-old Tanvonya Smith last Friday in east Macon.

According to a news release, the US Marshal’s Southeastern Regional Task Force arrested him at a motel in Norcross around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

After being interviewed, Stinson was taken to the Bibb County jail and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

On Tuesday, Cpt. Shermaine Jones with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said the shooting could have been the result of a love triangle.

Jones wouldn't comment on the parties involved, but says the shooting was not random. He says the gunman "came to that home for a reason."

The fatal shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with additional information should call 478-751-7500.
