Man pleads guilty in 2016 Pizza Hut armed robbery

Just before a jury was selected for his trial, a Macon man pleaded guilty in a 2016 armed robbery.

A news release from the district attorney's office says a judge sentenced Reginald Gilmore, 38, to 18 years in prison without the possibility of parole.

Gilmore and another man, 25-year-old Quayshaun Adams, arrived at the Pizza Hut on Houston Road in Macon just before closing time in August 2016.

The release says Gilmore demanded money from the manager at gunpoint, got the money and ran.

A delivery driver for Pizza Hut then followed the two men to the Magnolia Court Motel, also on Houston Road, and identified them to the manager and deputies. They were arrested shortly after.

Charges are still pending against Adams.
