Man robs south Macon dollar store at gunpoint

MACON - Bibb deputies are investigating a commercial armed robbery at the Family Dollar on Rocky Creek Road in Macon.

According to Lt. Randy Gonzalez, deputies were dispatched to the business at 2584 Rocky Creek Road just before 5:30 pm. Wednesday.

He says a man walked into the store with a handgun and demanded money from the employee.

The employee then ran from the counter to the back of the store. 

The suspect went behind the counter and took the money out of the register and ran away.

Lt. Gonzalez says there were other employees in the store at the time of the robbery, but could not confirm how many.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a slender man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. He also had a camouflaged scarf covering his mouth.
