Man gets 30 years behind bars for GCSU assault

Tuesday morning, a man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to assaulting a woman on the Georgia College campus in Milledgeville earlier this year.

20-year-old Jarvis Lawrence was charged with rape, aggravated assault, aggravated sodomy, possession of a firearm during a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, kidnapping, and probation violation.

After just one day of trial and before the victim testified, he pleaded guilty to all 7 counts.
