Master gardeners help clean up Alexander II

Alexander II hosts garden clean up

Early Saturday morning, Alexander II students and parents got some helping hands from a few master gardeners.

Volunteers pulled weeds and dead vegetation to make room for students to plant new things this school year at the annual Garden Clean-Up Day

Master gardeners from the UGA extension office showed students and parents what to keep since some flowers will come back in the future.

Talibah Muhammad, program assistant with the extension office, organized the clean-up.

“I want them to have a sense of pride and want them to come out here and make sure they have that upkeep, so when you see something that’s yours, you get out here and you get a sense of pride and ownership of something that’s at your school,” said Muhammad.

Muhammad says if anyone needs help or advice from master gardeners, it’s free. All you have to do is contact the extension office. That contact information is below:
