Mediterranean restaurant plans north Macon opening

Dining options might be a little more diverse in Macon soon.

Zoe's Kitchen, a Texas-based Mediterranean restaurant chain, is planning to open in the Shoppes at River Crossing.

On it's Facebook page, Zoe's describes its restaurant:

Zoës, which means LIFE in Greek, offers fresh ingredients in original recipes to complement your active lifestyle. Our Mediterranean-inspired menu is made FRESH daily in generous portions, sure to satisfy every member of the family. Taste our food and discover why people say it's so addictive!

Menu items include various flavors of hummus, chicken, steak, shrimp and salmon kabobs, an assortment of salads including quinoa, Greek and Mediterranean and soups and sandwiches.

Zoe's operates more than 220 stores in 20 states - 24 Georgia. The closest locations to central Georgia are in the Atlanta area.

The company received approval from Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission allowing outside seating. According to document filed with P&Z, Zoe's will have 46 patio seats and will have the capacity to seat 128 total.
