Members of Macon church give away food, blankets to homeless, less fortunate

A few members of Overcoming Fellowship Church in Macon gave away doughnuts, coffee, hot cocoa and blankets in downtown Macon on Thursday.

They handed out the food and blankets at Unique II Auto Detailing on Martin Luther King Blvd.

The owner of the shop, Bernard Bronner, who is also a member of the church says he sees the homeless around his business everyday.

"I come for work sometimes, and they're sleeping behind the building, they're sleeping in the alley," he said. "Your heart has to go out to them because that could be you."

His sister, Barbara White, says they simply wanted to spread some Christmas cheer.
