Mother hit by tractor trailer in Macon, dies

13WMAZ morning producer Sarah Hager went out to cover a fatal wreck in Macon on Friday morning. As she learned more about the victim, the tragedy struck close to home for Hager - back to her native Kentucky.

A woman is dead after she was hit by a tractor trailer on the Eisenhower Parkway Ramp in Macon.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said Judith Stacey was in the car with her family when her husband Phillip Stacey, 50, lost control of his vehicle and struck a guardrail.

That's when Judith Stacey and her 17 and 21 year old daughters exited the vehicle and began to run towards the shoulder of the road.

It was during that time that Judith Stacey was hit by the tractor trailer driven by 31-year-old Karamjeet Singh.

Both her husband, her children and the driver of the semi truck are OK, but shaken up.

Judith Stacey worked as a teacher in Kentucky.

The incident is still being investigated.
