Scene 13: Cinco de Mayo Celebration!

Aye-aye-aye! Cinco de Mayo's almost here, so in honor of our neighboring country's awesome holiday - we shall do a bit of traveling in our Scene Thirteen adventures this week...

We'll start the journey in Warner Robins with a bit of theatre. The Warner Robins Little Theatre presents "Black Jack Justice!" Now the story's cool - the actors are awesome, but here's the really cool thing - this weekend is donate what it's worth weekend. So you come and watch the show and then donate whatever you think it's worth when you leave. And I gotta tell you - it's gonna be good! Now let's travel down the road a bit to Perry, where another community theatre group is putting on a spectacular show! The Perry Players present Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple." when the Felix gets booted by his wife, he bunks with his bud - and polar opposite - Oscar. Hijinks and farcical funnies ensue in this hilarious show...which opens Friday night at 7:30. is the place to go for show information.

Byron's getting in on the Cinco de Mayo action with the annual Battle of Byron Festival! It's a full day of festival fun at North Peach Park - you've got arts and crafts, bed races, a huge car show, kids activities...and, of course, amazing live music provide by the ever-awesome Big Daddy and Company! So much to do...and you can do it all between nine in the morning and seven at night. has the info you need to make it happen!

Let's rock on back to Perry for another festival of epic proportions. It's time for Ronald Palooza! Head to the Georgia National Fairgrounds for family fun to the extreme. Burns and Poe headline the music entertainment for the day and they'll be joined by Jenny Jentry, Two-Finger-Jester...just to name a few! Plus there'll be clowns, a train ride, inflatables, food...the list just goes on and on. Tell you what - get to and you can find out all about it! The good times happen Saturday starting at ten o'clock in the am.

And we'll wrap things up in Byron, where next Thursday Byron Baptist Church is putting on one humdinger of a concert! The eighth annual Inspirations concert is coming to town. This band has been performing good 'ol southern gospel music for forty-eight years! Forty-eight years, folks! Next Thursday, they'll be performing just for you right here in Central Georgia. Doors open at six and the sangin' commences at seven. Be there!
