Record Heat Expected In Central Georgia Today

Today will be a carbon copy of yesterday with tons of sunshine and hot weather across central Georgia.  Macon's high is expected to hit 90, which would break a 90 year old record of 89 degrees set back in 1926.

If Macon hits 90 today, it will be the 115th day of 90+ degree days this year. The all time record for 90 degree days in Macon is 116 and we may hit 90 again tomorrow.

The recent heat has been a result of dry and sunny weather thanks to an area of high pressure centered over the Southeast. To those looking for cooler temperatures - a strong cold front is expected to pass through the area on Friday, bringing us much cooler weather for the weekend.
