Report: Possible drug deal led to Macon shooting death

New details are available Monday in what led up to the shooting death of 36-year-old Ralfeale Lowe on English Avenue in Macon.

According to Bibb Sheriff’s Office incident report, a deputy was sent to Apt. H at 2336 English Avenue after a call of a man being shot in the chest.

When he arrived, he heard a woman screaming and he walked in the open front door to find a man holding Lowe, who was slouched over.

Everyone was escorted out of the apartment and EMS was called to the scene.

A small black handgun was found on the floor of the bedroom upstairs and the report says there was a ‘green, leafy substance’ scattered on the ground in front of the apartment along with two shell casings.

They found a silver Honda Accord with a bullet hole on the driver side and passenger front window. The deputy says in the report the hood of the car was still warm at that point.

Lowe’s sister-in-law Quintesa said she went downstairs to get food for her child and overheard Lowe on the phone saying, “I told you not to come over here, I was coming to you.” She said she saw two men with black shirts around 17 or 18-years-old.

Lowe’s brother Antown said he was upstairs when he heard Ralfeale yelling for help.

Lowe’s mother Anita said she was also upstairs when she heard two gunshots. She found her son slouched over and saw three men running away towards the street.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at (478) 751-7500.
