Robins AFB J-STARS being evacuated to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma ahead of Irma

Ga. National Guard Gen. Joseph Jarrard on Friday said equipment is being evacuated ahead of Hurricane Irma, including the J-STARS at Robins AFB which are being moved to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma.

Ga. National Guard Gen. Joseph Jarrard on Friday said equipment is being evacuated ahead of Hurricane Irma, including the J-STARS at Robins AFB which are being moved to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma.

"We do have some equipment that has to be evacuated in circumstances like this," Jarrard said during a news conference with Gov. Nathan Deal.

"Our C130s from Savannah are being flown to Memphis to get them out of the impact area ..." Jarrard said. "Our J-STARS aircraft at Warner Robins will also be moved. They will go to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma."
