Due to the weather Macon City workers are delayed until 10:30am. Workers are to report then and city offices will open at that time.

So far the wintry weather has shut down some Central Georgia schools and delayed some college campuses. Although many systems are closed for the day, Houston County schools are scheduled for classes as usual, according to spokeswoman Beth McLaughlin.'

According to her news release, "Superintendent David Carpenter is in close contact with GEMA and is very carefully monitoring the weather. In the event this decision changes, families will receive another telephone call."

Crawford County schools are also open, according to Superintendent John Douglas.

Excel Child Development Learning Center in Macon will delay opening until 9 a.m.

These schools and school systems are closed:

Baldwin County schools are closed

Bibb County schools will be closed Monday for students, staff and central staff, according to Sylvia McGee, assistant superintendent.

Bleckley County schools are closed, according to assistant superintendent Richard Smith.

Dodge County schools are closed to students, according to acting superintendent Mimi Dennis. Staff should report at 10 a.m.

Hancock County schools will be closed, according to Superintendent, Dr. Awanna Leslie.

Jasper County schools will be closed, according to transportation director Jerry Williams.

Jones County schools will be closed according to Superintendent James LeBrun.

Laurens County schools are closed, according to Superintendent Jerry Hatcher.

Monroe County schools will be closed for students, according to school official Sheila Smith. Twelve-month employees should report to work if possible, she said.

Putnam County schools will be closed.

Taylor County schools are closed for students for the day, according to Superintendent Wayne Smith. Buses will not be running, but teachers and other staff members should report to work if possible.

Telfair County schools are closed Monday, according to Superintendent Kerry Clark.

Twiggs County schools are closed for students, according to assistant superintendent Carol Brown. Staff should report by 10 a.m.

Wheeler County schools are closed for both students and staff, said Superintendent Mark Davidson.

Macon State College's Macon and Warner Robins' campuses will be closed until evening classes begin at 5:30 p.m., according to Sheron Smith, the college's news bureau coordinator.

Georgia Military College, Warner Ronins Classes canceled until noon

Employees at Robins Air Force can report up to two hours late Monday, due to the poor weather and possibility of icy roads, according to base spokesman Sgt. Vann Miller.

That applies to both military and civilian workers.

Mission-essential employees should contact their supervisors for additional instructions, he said.

The Robins Elementary School on tjhe base will open two hours late, at 10 a.m., according to Sheila Clockton, music specialist.

Pete Konenkamp with UGA'S Athens campus says they will be closed Monday.

And UGA's Griffin campus will open at noon, according to spokeswoman BeAtrice Cunningham.

The Georgia Academy for the Blind will begin classes an hour late, at 9 a.m., "for those who can attend safely," according to director Dorothy Arensman.

American Professional Institute's Macon and Milledgeville campuses will be closed, but all full-time employees should report by 10 a.m., according Yolanda Headley, regional director.

Robins Elementary School on Robins Air Force Base will open two hours late, at 10 a.m., according to Sheila Clockton, music specialist.

Central Georgia Technical College President Ron Natale says the schools daytime classes are canceled, but classes after 5 p.m. will go on as scheduled. According to Natale, employees and teachers should report to the school by 10 a.m. if they can.
