Chargers, Irish Cruise Into Elite 8

Matthew Brabbham scored 30 points to lead Central past Appling County 73-47 Wednesday night.

The win moves the Chargers into the Elite 8.

They will play Dublin Saturday night in Savannah.

The top-ranked Irish pounded Long County 73-55 Wednesday night.

Wilkinson County also moved into the Elite 8 with a 69-63 win over Greenville Wednesday night in Irwinton.

Wilco will meet Wilcox County Friday night in Columbus.

Wilcox beat Calvary Day 73-64 on the road Wednesday night.

In other playoff action involving Central Georgia teams, Turner County knocked out defending Class A State Champion Hancock Central 70-57 and Washington County beat Monroe, Albany 57-43 in Sandersville.

Waco will play top-ranked South Atlanta Saturday night in Columbus.
