Cherry Blossom Activities: Day Three

The third day of the Cherry Blossom Festival has plenty of pink fun for families to enjoy.

  • Start the morning with the Cherry Blossom Opening Worship Service at New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, starting at 11 a.m. This event is free.
  • Head out to Central City Park for the Amazing Animal Athlete Dog Shows at 11:30, 1:30, and 3:30. This event is free.
  • At 2:30 p.m., check out Pink Tutus and Jazzy Blues by the Central Georgia Youth Ballet. It features the family-friendly ballet "Graduation Ball", the famous classical ballet "Pas de Quatre" and original pieces honoring Macon's rhythm and blues heritage. Tickets are $8.00 for seniors and children, $10.00 for adults.
  • Join dignitaries of the Festival's featured countries at the lighting of the ceremonial lantern in Third Street Park at 2 p.m.
  • At 3 p.m., you can take a seat on Cherry or Mulberry Street and relax with the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade.
  • Martha Bowman United Methodist Church will host In-Spite 2009: A Festival Celebration of Christian Song. The free event starts at 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. There's no charge, but tickets are required. Call 477-1901 to reserve your tickets.
  • Dance the night away at the park with Oldies Night featuring the Hollywood Band from 6:00 p.m. til 9:00 p.m. This is a free event.
  • And enjoy an evening of multi-cultural delights at the Kaleidoscope of Cultures. The event is free with a 2009 Festival Pin, and the first performance takes the stage at 7 p.m. in the Porter Auditorium at Wesleyan College.
