Some people went shopping in Fort Valley Saturday and Sunday to pick up some new decorations for their home and benefit advocates for children at the same time.
Court-Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, of Houston County hosted a liquidation and vendor sale this weekend.
They're a group of volunteers that courts appoint for children who've been taken away from their parents.
When a store in Fort Valley closed down, the owners donated the entire stock to the organization.
Shoppers browsed through furniture, home decorations and garden ornaments.
CASA volunteer Linda Gove says ones of the reasons she decided to volunteer with CASA is because she was in a similar situation as a child. "It's very rewarding to participate in any way to further fund CASA to be able to keep gdoing what we're doing to help children."
If you didn't make it to the sale this weekend, you can still go next week.
They'll be open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon til 4 on Sunday at the old train station in Fort Valley.
