Winners of three consecutive games, the Middle Georgia College softball team looked to keep the streak going on Tuesday with a win over Gordon College.
The Lady Warriors had the home field advantage as they were able to hold off the Highlanders.
The action started early in the game. We picked up in the sixth inning where the Warriors were on their toes. After a strike by the Highlanders, catcher Chelsea Vaughn fired one across the dirt to second baseman Logan Smith where she was able to tag out the runner trying to steal a base.
The strong defensive play of the Warriors allowed them to protect their 4-2 lead late in the game.
Kassie Bailey pitched all seven innings helping to preserve the Warriors win.
MGC improved to 24-12 on the season. They hope to keep their streak going on Wednesday when they face Darton College in a rain-out make-up game at 2 p.m. Natasha Doh contributed to this report
