Federal grant money will help the Telfair-Wheeler County Airport improve its runway to handle larger planes.
That's according to a news release from U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Savannah.
The airport will get $890,000, according to the news release.
It quotes Telfair County Commission Chairman Howard Hart as saying, "This is a project that we have wanted to invest in for quite a while, and we are happy to receive the necessary funding to begin some major improvements. By resurfacing and extending the runway, we can ensure better access for aircraft."
