College students in Macon are pulling an all-nighter Friday, but not to cram for a test.

Mercer University and Wesleyan College teamed up to host the first ever college Relay for Life.

Relay for Life raises money for the American Cancer Society.

Students got together on Wesleyan's campus this Friday evening.

Macon-Bibb Firefighters fired up the grill, students faced off in volleyball and teams battled in a tug of war to raise money for cancer research.

Relay for Life organizers also have a duct tape fashion show, live music and more games lined up to help people make it through the night.

Akil Thomas, Mercer University Student, says, " This event for me is just coming together, two schools in Macon coming together to do something positive for the world."

Lisa Ohman, Wesleyan College Student, says, " I'm really excited about the opportunity to participate in Relay. I've had a lot of people in my family that have suffered from cancer.

The college Relay for Life will continue into the early morning hours.

It's free to participate in the events.
