Bibb County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for the armed man who stole a car at the Country Hearth Inn on Chambers Road.
They'd also like to speak to three women who may have witnessed part of the Friday-morning carjacking.
A news release says a man dressed in all blue stole a black Honda Accord at gunpoint around 3:15 a.m.
The Bibb County sheriff's office released corrected information on the carjacking Friday afternoon; earlier in the day they said a woman's car was stolen.
According to the release, Kevin Mackey and friend Steven Mays, both of Macon, met three unidentified women at the Country Hearth Inn.
According to the release, two of the women were with Mays in the motel room and Mackey was with the third woman in the Accord in the parking lot.
According to the report, an armed man approached the Accord, demanding Mackey and the woman leave the car. Hays reported hearing a gunshot, but nobody was injured.
Lt. George Meadows says the borrowed car has a California tag and belongs to a friend of Mays who is overseas in the military. Deputies don't know what direction the carjacker is traveling.
Investigators are looking for the three female witnesses, who left the scene.
Anyone with information can call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 746-9441 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
