Macon police say three men have been arrested in a weekend shooting that killed one man and wounded another.

Police say they arrested 28-year-old Warwick Ammons on Tuesday.

In a news conference Thursday afternoon, Police Chief Mike Burns says 28-year-old Onta Deon Jones and 23-year-old Tueko D. Jones were arrested in Atlanta.

The Southeast Regional Task Force brought them to Macon Thursday, where they are now in jail, he said.

Police continue to look for 27-year-old Kedrian D. Burndette, also known by the street name "Killa," according to Burns.

Sgt. Melanie Hofmann says there was a fight outside the Riverview Ballroom early Sunday, at the corner of Walnut Street and Broadway, when shots were fired.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones pronounced 27-year-old Darius Tyrece Daniel dead at the scene around 5:30 Sunday morning. Jones says 32-year-old Antonio Parker was shot in the upper thigh.

Burns says tips from the community helped move the case along.

He says usually when they have a crime like this, they don't get a lot of information from citizens. But he says this is one time the police department received an abundance of information from the community.

Burns says the mayor has called him and wants him to review the city ordinance involving nightclubs.

He says the clubs are staying open too late and after they are supposed to close, they are having private parties and they're serving alcohol until all hours of the morning.

Burns says they are going to try to find a way to stop that.

The owner of the Riverview Ballroom welcomes that idea.

Club Owner Cheryl Louder says her business is her livelihood, and she wants a safer environment for her patrons.

The shooting outside the Riverview Ballroom was just one of several crimes outside Macon nightclubs in recent months.

On March 30, police were on the scene of a shooting at the Dirty Iguana nightclub in downtown Macon.

Police say two teens were shot.

On March 14, 29-year-old Ronnie Brown was stabbed to death at Club Money's on Pio Nono Avenue.

Burns says he believes the majority of people in the community are just tired of these senseless, violent crimes that are committed by a few people.

James Burnsed operates a private security company, called Regional Protective Services, that contracts with downtown spots BJ's Billiards and Envy.

He says the recent crimes are not good for any business downtown, and the presence of security can help curtail what appears to be a growing problem.

Burnsed says his goal is to maintain a safe atmosphere, and for people who do want to patronize a business to feel very secure in the location that they're at.

Mayor's spokesman Andrew Blascovich says the city is reviewing ordinances involving its nightclubs.

Macon nightclubs must stop serving drinks at 2 a.m. but can stay open longer.

Burns says early-morning crowds often gather outside some nightclubs, and that can breed brawls and shootings.

The mayor's office has asked the police department to look at club ordinances in other cities.

Police are asking that anyone with information on this shooting to contact Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME or call the the Macon Police at 478-751-7500.
