This is the very last weekend to catch two phenomenal stage productions.

Take a seat and unwind at Theatre Macon as the Youth Actor's Company presents Footloose! When Chicago-boy Ren comes to the small town of Bomont and discovers dancing is outlawed, things get all shook up! Of the story, director Robin Ervin says, "It's what happens when the newcomer comes...and tradition gets challenged. It has everything - a love story, wonderful dancing...the music is great!"

Friday night, the Douglass Theatre presents Central Georgia native Baatin in concert. According to the talented musician, "It is actually a CD release, slash concert, slash homecoming for me." And as for the music? "I like to characterize my band and myself as sort of a jazz, funk revival." The music starts at 8:00 p.m. Call (478) 742-2000 for ticket information.
It is the final weekend of the Macon Symphony Orchestra's 2008-2009 season - and they're going out with a bang! Saturday, it's "Music Out of this World" at the Grand Opera House. The Symphony joins forces with Macon State Women's Chorus and the Middle Georgia Choral Society in a performance of Holst's "Planets," Chabrier's "Espana" and Mozart's "Cosi fan Tutte Overture, K. 588." Then, check out the annual Picnic Pops at Wesleyan College Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The Mercer/Macon Symphony's Youth Orchestra performs during this free concert. Bring your blankets, picnic baskets and get serenaded as the sun goes down!
There's a bit of seriously fun action happening at Robins Air Force Base this weekend! From the high flyin' Air Force Thunderbirds to teh free fallin' Army Golden Knights...and a whole lot of awesome aerobatics...the 2009 Robins Air Force Base Air Show takes over the skies of Central Georgia!
If you don't have a base pass - no worries! Just park at Anchor Glass on Booth Rd., McConnell-Talbert Stadium on South Davis Drive or at the Macon Regional Airport and the base will provide free shuttle service to and from the air show.
If you have questions, call the air show hotline at (478) 222-SHOW. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The show starts at 10:30 a.m. on both days.
