A downtown Macon landmark hotel will get a new owner soon.

The Ramada Plaza at First Street and Riverside Drive will be sold on the Bibb County Courthouse steps.

That's according to hotel General Manager Andreas Muggler.

He says he works for the management company hired by the bank that controls the hotel since it went into foreclosure.

On June 2, the bank will take the hotel back from the current owners, Kronos Hotels, and eventually seek a new owner.

The hotel was known as the Crown Plaza until 2007, and has had several other names in the past 40 years.

Muggler says they are still in business, and customers should see no interruption in service.
