Macon Police Make Unusual Arrest

Macon Police made an unusual arrest Saturday morning.

A news release from Sgt. Melanie Hofmann says police arrested 22-year-old Jesus Velez for burglary on the roof of the El Sombrero Restaurant at 3555 Mercer University Drive.

The release says Velez broke into the restaurant and dropped his I.D. inside before he exited to the roof.

Police arrested Velez shortly after 2 a.m. when officers responded to the restaurant for a burglar alarm activation.
