The Cherry Blossom Festival will be looking for a new director and CEO.

Festival Marketing Director Stacey Campbell says Interim Director Jim Davis stepped down on Monday.

Davis served in the position since December 2008.

He says the board notified him last month that they wanted to search for someone with more festival experience.

Davis says he was disappointed, but very proud of his time as Interim Director.

Before that, he was a member of the Board of Trustees.

He led the festival during a time when its financial future seemed uncertain.

The pinkest party on earth went into the red in 2008, due to rain outs and other problems that brought down attendance.

At the conclusion of this year's events, Davis said people came out in record numbers and he believes the festival will go on next year.

Campbell says on June 24th, they will announce the final numbers from this year's festival.
