An Army veteran's service has paid off for his widow long after his death.

75 year-old Bobbie Mize received a home transformation from Rebuilding Together Warner Robins.

Rebuilding Together Warner Robins and Sears chose Mize for their "Heroes at Home" grant.

Mize says the gift was greatly appreciated. "It has been so wonderful. It's been a lot more than I thought it would be," Mize said.

She has lived in the home for many years, and now feels comfortable and secure in it.

"They turned this old house into a beautiful, cool, comfy home for me to grow old in," said Mize.

President Jerome Stephens of Rebuilding Together says they got rid of the termites, and renovated the bathroom, dining room, and kitchen.

They also installed a central heating and air unit and made the home energy-efficient, which, in the end, will save Mize money.

Rebuilding Together Warner Robins started working on Mize's home last July and completed the work the week of June 8th.
