Monica Seles leads this year's class of inductees into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
Seles won nine Grand Slam singles titles, including eight before
she was 20. She was the top-ranked women's player in the world for 178 weeks and was known for her two-handed swings.
Her career was interrupted in 1993, when she was stabbed by a
spectator during a match in Hamburg, Germany. She returned to the sport, capturing the 1996 Australian Open.
The induction ceremony takes place Saturday.
Other new members include 1972 French Open champion Andres
Gimeno, ATP co-founder Donald Dell and the late Robert Johnson, who pioneered the integration of tennis at the junior level.
