The Indigo Girls have agreed to play a benefit concert in Macon next month.

Kirsten West, Managing Director of the Big House Foundation, says the group will be part of a five act benefit concert on September 12.

"It's pretty exciting stuff," says West. "We're really happy about it."

The concert will take place at the Cox Capitol Theatre. West says a start time has not been determined yet. She says the Indigo Girls will headline a show featuring the Randall Bramblett Band, Caroline Aiken, Oh Dorian and Molly Stevens who will be accompanied by Shane Bridges. West says 13WMAZ Chief Meteorologist Ben Jones has agreed to emcee the benefit.

"We think this is a big deal for Macon," says West.

The concert will benefit the Big House Foundation, to raise money for the Allman Brothers Band Museum.

Tickets for the event will go on sale Monday, August 24. You can purchase them on the Cox Capitol Theatre's website. West says you can purchase a table on the floor of the theatre for a minimum of $500. Cocktail seating will cost you $50 per person. If you want seats in the balcony you have two options: front balcony seating runs $35 and back seating costs $25. West says if any tickets are still available after the online sales, you can purchase them at the box office starting Wednesday, August 26.
