The fun never stops in Central Georgia! And this weekend - it's all over the place... For starters, how about an evening of dancing? How about an evening of dancing under the magnificent wings of an F-16 or the majestic body of a C-46? "We're gonna be having a dance at the Century of Flight hangar at our air museum in Warner Robins," says USA Dance patron Carl Candiano. "Dancing amongst the aircraft is gonna be a really great experience!" Candiano, along with other dancers from the Macon and Warner Robins chapters of USA Dance, will lead the party this Saturday evening at the 1st Dance for Our Heroes event. All of Central Georgia is invited out to dance the night away! John Herren, who is retired from the Air Force and can cut quite a rug, says not to let two left feet stop your fun. "We want the ones who don't know how, to feel comfortable out there...to do their thing and not worry about what they look like, because no one was born on a dance floor!" Even more spectacular is the fact that ALL proceeds from the event will go to the local Hearts for Heroes program and the Wounded Warrior Project. Incredible fun for a great cause...doesn't get much better! So strap on those dancing shoes and head out to the Museum of Aviation this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. For tickets, call (478) 919-0624 or grab them at the door. Visit www.dancehoustonco.org or www.paulaeast.com for more information. Now, here in Macon this Saturday, you have an opportunity to spend An Intimate Evening with Karen Black and Harriet Schock. Black, a long-time actress in film and on Broadway, was in town for MaGa. She recently wrote a play - Missouri Waltz - which will debut in Macon at the Cox Capitol Theatre later this month. Grammy-winner Harriet Schock wrote the music for the play. This Saturday, both ladies will perform and mingle at the home of Don Bivings and Pino Mauro. And to add to the excitment, the cast of the play - who are all local actors aside from Black - will be announced. For tickets to the intimate evening, visit www.coxcapitoltheatre.com . From intimate evenings to a puppy parade... "It will definitely be like a festival atmosphere. It'll be fun for your family, you and even your pets!" Save A Pet's Tess Hammock is referring to this Saturday's 2nd Annual Pet Parade in Forsyth. This is one event that's all about your four-legged friends! "They have a dog show and they give awards for a lot of different categories...craziest costume, oldest, best personality." Bring your pooch to the Taylor House - next door to Monroe Academy - from 8:30 a.m. to Noon. All proceeds will benefit Save A Pet. The Macon music scene is pretty hot this weekend! First up, on Friday night Ken Will Morton takes over 567 Cafe in downtown Macon. Morton's southern-flavored rock will kick off around 8:00 p.m. Also on Friday, also at 8:00 p.m., Whiskey River presents a huge country music show with Steve Richards kickin' things off for Craig Morgan. Richards has opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dierks Bentley and ZZ Top - to name just a few. So it's safe to say, this is one show you definitely want to check out. Wrapping up the weekend, this Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m., the young talents of local group CNV perform a tribute to Michael Jackson in Gateway Park. This is the first performance of the 10th Annual Rhythm & Jazz on the Docks which continues through the next eight Sundays. Grab your blankets and lawn chairs and relax to the sounds of some of your favorite tunes on the banks of the Ocmulgee.
