You and your family will have another place to spend time this Labor Day weekend.

Thursday kicked off the grand reopening of Arrowhead Park at Lake Tobesofkee.

The celebration introduced people of Central Georgia to the park that received severe damage from the Mother's Day tornadoes of 2008.

The reopening also honored volunteers who helped with clean-up and restoration.

Bibb County Commission Chair, Sam Hart Sr., and Commissioner, Joe Allen, say the restoration of Arrowhead Park is something that the community and the state can appreciate.

"Not only restoration, but transition. We were able to do this with the insurance money that came. So, not a lot of cost to the citizens, so it's a great effort on the part of Bibb County," said Hart.

Arrowhead Park will reopen to campers this weekend.
