Two Twiggs County women died Thursday evening after a Laurens County car accident.

Trooper Jonathan Foskey with the Georgia State Patrol said 48-year-old Debbie Cook of Jeffersonville was driving on Old Macon Road and ran a stop sign at Georgia Highway 338.

Foskey said a Cadillac Escalade driven by 60-year-old Janice Daniel of Dublin hit Cook's truck.

He said the truck then hit 30-year-old cyclist Spence Lovett of Dudley and knocked him off his bike.

The truck caught on fire, killing Cook and her passenger, 64-year-old Ellistine Jordan of Jeffersonville.

Daniel and her 2-year-old passenger were treated and released from the hospital in Dublin.

Lovett was treated and released from the hospital in Macon.
