
ATLANTA (AP) -- The American Red Cross has taken in more than 650 people in shelters because of flooding in the Southeast.
Red Cross officials said Friday shelters in Georgia and Tennessee took in nearly 400 people Thursday night whose homes were affected by the recent flooding. The Red Cross has also provided provided food and mental health counseling.
The Red Cross has had more than 200 staff and volunteers working at the shelters.
