
Both Georgia and Georgia Tech were relieved to be in the win column on Saturday. For the Bulldogs it was their third straight dramatic win. For Tech it was a return to the win column after a disappointing performance at Miami.
The Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets each placed two players on their respective conference player of the week lists.
Sophomore wide receiver A.J. Green helped set up Blair Walsh's game-winning field goal. Green was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week after hauling in 8 grabs for 153 yards and a touchdown. He also registered his first blocked field goal.
Justin Houston was named Defensive End of the Week for his play against the Sun Devils. The Statesboro native had the team's only sack of the evening.
The 18th-ranked Bulldogs host LSU Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.
As for the Jackets, their defensive performance was key in getting back to their winning ways in Bobby Dodd Stadium. Morgan Burnett led the way with a pair of interceptions, getting him notice as ACC Defensive Back of the Week.
Sean Bedford took home Co-Offensive Lineman of the Week. The junior center helped Tech pick up 317 yards on the ground.
With the win the Yellow Jackets moved up to No. 25 in the AP Poll. They travel to Mississippi State Saturday night.
