Georgia Wins Eat A Peach Collegiate

Georgia came back from a 10-stroke deficit after round one to win the Eat A Peach Collegiate Golf Tournament, hosted by the Mercer women's golf team.

Florida State held the day one team lead, but just one sub-77 round in the second round of the 36-hole event cost the Seminoles. Georgia was led by Marta Silva Zamora, who fired back-to-back 70s to win the individual title.

As a squad the Bulldogs finished +23. Florida St. and Furman tied for second at +24. Georgia State rounded out the top-5 at 31-over. A trio of Peach state squads took 8th through 10th, beginning with Kennesaw State (+42), followed by Augusta State (+50), and rounded out by host Mercer (+52).

The 12-team tournament featured seven team ranked in the top-100. Georgia entered at No. 5, while FSU sat at 8th.

Mercer's top performer was Alex Quagliata, who followed up a first round 77 with a 76 on Monday.
