Those who encounter the Dougherty County Police officers should be ready for their close up.
The department is now using tiny pocket cameras to record audio and video every time they talk to people in a case.
The devices are clipped to the front of the officers' uniforms and are also used to record crime scenes.
Chief Don Cheek said the cameras provide great evidence and protects officers against false complaints of misconduct.
The camera works with memory cards and officers have to download footage it into computers after their shift.
Cheek said at least one complaint against an officer has been proven false using the cameras and other agencies are considering using them too.
He said the devices were purchased for less than $100 each.
