The FBI has now joined the search for a Virginia Tech student who vanished a week ago outside a Metallica concert.

A Virginia State Police spokeswoman says the FBI will be able to
investigate tips from around the country in the disappearance of
Morgan Dana Harrington.

The 20-year-old was last seen near the University of Virginia
concert arena in Charlottesville. There, she became separated from her friends and ended up outside the concert site. She was denied re-entry under arena policy.

The local sheriff says a task force investigating the recent
killings of two Virginia Tech students has been checking for
similarities to the Harrington case. He says they've found no
connection between Harrington and the couple killed in August.
