More than 90 Girl Scouts from around Central Georgia met at Union Baptist Church in Macon on Saturday to learn the art of selling.
The girls are gearing up for their annual cookie sale that starts in January. They prepared by playing math games and doing skits and commercial pitches. Troop leaders believe this gives the girls an opportunity to build up their character and business knowledge.
"We want them to know the importance of having adult supervision, not asking strangers to buy cookies and we also want them to be of good confidence as well as good character when they are out selling the cookies, because this is a life long skill," said Priscilla Stanley, a Girl Scout leader.
Next week, the Girl Scouts will be giving warm coats to the Union Baptist Church clothing bank and the Macon Rescue Mission.
