A family of seven escaped a fire that destroyed a Perry mobile home early Tuesday morning.

According to a Perry Fire Department news release,  firefighters got to the scene at 1109 Gaines Drive shortly before 3 a.m.

The release says it took firefighters about one hour to put the fire out.  Perry Deputy Fire Chief Joel Gray says the fire started in the kitchen, but they are still trying to figure out how the flames started.  No one was injured.-

The fire department says the Napier Family -- three adults ages 60, 59, and 30, and four children, ages 2, 3, 4 and 17 -- is staying at a local motel.
