A Macon man faces charges of embezzling more than $33,000 from a Macon youth swim club.

A Bibb County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Michael Switzer on 18 charges of fiduciary theft., according to prosecutor Myra Hutchinson.

Back in May, Switzer, former treasurer of the Macon Waves, turned himself in to Macon police to face charges.

Police said he'd admitted embezzling from the swim group.

According to police, he wrote a letter to the Waves' board of directors saying that he used club money to buy food, groceries, clothing, school supplies and more. He wrote that he was seeking financial counseling and planned to pay it back.

In May, he was released on $9,400 bond.
