Late Thursday night, hundreds of people packed the movie theater to catch the midnight showing of 'New Moon,' the second installment of the 'Twilight' series.
Here in Macon, a group of more than 250 Twilight Moms got together to make their viewing a night to remember.
Cindy Adrien organized the event for Twilight Moms of Middle Georgia.
She reserved a 260-seat theater at AmStar Theater in Macon, and every seat was sold to catch the first glimpse of New Moon.
Adrien says, "You'll see with all these women here, there is something that really has drawn us to it, and I think it's the love story part of it."
Anticipation for Twilight's latest filled the theater as moms, daughters, family and friends gathered together for movie.
Adrien modeled it after similar events around the country.
She says it is the first activity for the Twilight Moms of Middle Georgia group, formed to bring together fans of the series.
She says people from across the state of Georgia came to Macon for the private party.
For fans of the vampire saga, it was a chance to dress up, pose with cutouts of their favorite characters and have a night in a fantasy world, away from everyday life.
Liz Majors says she couldn't think of another way to spend her night than with 260 other Twilight fans.
Tracy McSwain came to the movie for a girls night out with other women in her neighborhood.
She says about 12 women from Gray all got together to experience the midnight showing, which she says is the latest movie she has ever been to.
In addition to the movie craze, the Twilight Moms collected donations for the Middle Georgia Food Bank and Alex's Lemonade Stand.
Cindy Adrien says, "it's something that we could put our fun and love for the Twilight series with some good works for the community."
They also held raffles, a silent auction and gave out prizes for the best costume and the best t-shirt design.
'New Moon' enthusiasts all have their own reasons for loving the series.
Michelle Crosson says, "I love the books, the movies, the enthusiasm, the romance, the drama."
Lisa Cady says, "We all just kind of fantasize about the love story and the excitement between the vampires and the werewolves."
And these Twilight fans are already looking ahead to the next chapter.
The movie was shown on nine screens at midnight at AmStar Theater, and all were sold out.
