A Macon home caught fire early Saturday morning, killing one man and sending two others to the hospital.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says the man who died was burned beyond recognition. He says he's asking the GBI to identify him using dental records on Monday.

Jones also says 31-year-old Christopher Johnson and 28-year-old Michael Johnson were airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center.

Anne Cordeiro with the burn center says Christopher Johnson is listed in good condition and Michael Johnson is in fair condition.

Chief Marvin Riggins of the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department says his crews got the call to 2824 Columbus Drive shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday morning. He says having a fatality on the scene is always tough on firemen, and he plans to provide counseling services to those who responded to the call.

This is the third fire-related death in central Georgia in a week.
