A Dodge county man is facing several charges after investigators say he held another man against his will.

A news release from the Dodge County sheriff's office says the incident happened Monday night around 11:15 p.m. at a home on Joiner Creed Road.

Deputies say they responded to a 9-1-1 call that 46-year-old Jimmy Dean Barnett was threatening the male caller with a gun and holding him against his will inside the caller's house, according to the release.

Deputies say when they arrived at the house, Barnett was gone.

The release says they went to Barnett's home on New Bethel Church Road.

When they arrived, Barnett started shooting a gun into the air from his front door as deputies pulled into his yard, according to the release.

Investigators say Barnett refused to exit his house for the deputies and a stand off ensued.

Deputies from the Telfair County Sheriff's Office and a Helena Police Officer responded to assist the Dodge County Deputies.

The release says Dodge County Deputies entered Barnett's home shortly after midnight.

Barnett was found to be hiding up under his home with several loaded firearms in his possession, according to investigators.

Barnett was taken into custody by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office.

Barnett is facing several charges including terroristic threats and acts along with false imprisonment, felony obstruction, and disorderly conduct.
