MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Usually, you have to be pretty sick or hurt to get a ride in an ambulance. Authorities in Madison, Wis., say the man who swiped an ambulance from a ski area was neither -- but was drunk.
The Dane County Sheriff's Department says the man made off with the ambulance -- with the patient and paramedics still inside the vehicle.
It happened when a man needed treatment in the
back of the vehicle at a ski resort on Mount Horeb on Monday night. They say a 24-year-old man got into the vehicle and drove it around the parking lot. It's unclear how authorities finally stopped the man's joy ride -- but it is clear he was arrested.
