Javors Lucas Lake Expands Fishing Hours

The regular fishing season at Javors Lucas Lake will be expanded for 2010, after a vote by the Macon Water Authority Board of Directors.

Fishing season at the lake officially opened the first weekend in March.

Beginning Thursday and extending through Sunday July 4, Javors Lucas Lake will be open to local anglers on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition to adding Thursdays to the schedule for May and June, Javors Lucas Lake will be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31.

The lake will be open the entire July 4 weekend as well.

The last day of the MWA public fishing season for this year will be Sunday, October 31.

Javors Lucas Lake is located next to the Authority's Frank C. Amerson, Jr. Water Treatment Plant, off of Upper River Road in Jones County.
