Stripling's General Store eyes February opening in Perry

Crews were putting in work Tuesday at the future Stripling's General Store in Perry. The company says it's planning to opening there in February.

Stripling's General Store is opening its fourth location in Perry soon.

The Cordele-based family store is eyeing a February opening at its new location across from the Georgia National Fairgrounds, according to Stripling's marketing director Ashely Goss.

She says the store is excited to join the Perry community and they are moving as fast they can to get things up and running.

Goss added that they have not started hiring for the Perry store at this time. "That will probably take place around mid-January," she said.

Those interested will be able to apply on the store's website

Founded in 1964, Stripling's motto: "You Never Sausage a Place."

While sausage is the backbone of Stripling's, they also offer an array of specialty items including award-winning pork and beef jerky, jams, jellies, salad dressings, sauces and seasonings.

The 12,000-square-foot Perry store will be similar to Stripling's flagship store on Hwy. 300 in Cordele. The general store also operates smaller locations - another in Cordele and one in Bogart.

The Perry location is located at 301 AG Village Blvd.
