Telegraph to quit publishing Robins AFB newspaper

The official newspaper for Robins Air Force Base, the Robins Rev-Up, goes on hiatus Oct. 28 while the base looks for a new publisher.

That's according to a statement from base spokesman Roland Leach. He would not comment further on the paper's status.

The free weekly newspaper is published by The Telegraph under contract with the base. It's distributed every Friday at locations on and around the base.

The Rev-Up covers a mix of base activities and Air Force news for the Robins community.

For example, the Oct. 14 issue online includes stories on base units aiding with Hurricane Matthew recovery, gate closings due to construction, a report on the number of Robins workmen's compensation cases dropping and on base activities for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Telegraph estimates its circulation is 10,500 copies.

We could not reach Telegraph publisher Don Bailey for comment.

While the Rev-Up isn't publishing, Leach said people should check the Robins home page or Facebook page for updates on base news.
